Tamarind

Tamarinds (also called Indian dates) are the fruits of the tamarind tree (Tamarindus indica, legume family), about 5 to 20 cm long brown, slightly curved pods, inside which lie the seeds, encased in a brownish to blackish-red mass, the fruit pulp.
